President Buhari arrived in Imo state dressed in Ishiagu, a bright traditional Igbo outfit.

The president was dressed in Ishiagu Igbo costume and would be conducting the Guard Of Honor in Imo State, according to photographs published on social media.

 The President arrived at the Sam Mbakwe Airport in Owerri at 9:30 a.m., and was greeted by the state governor, Hope Uzodinma, government officials, royal fathers, and other dignitaries, according to Naija News.

Governor Uzodinma expressed gratitude to the President for agreeing to visit the state and commission some of his projects in a Facebook post on Thursday.

The Naze-Nekede-Ihiagwa-Obinze Link Road Phase One, an underground tunnel on D-Tiger Road Owerri, the Egbeada Bye-Pass, and the new State Executive Council Chambers at Government House are among the projects commissioned. 

 Naze-Neke is also one of the projects proposed for commissioning.

“It is with a grateful heart that I, on behalf of the wonderful people of Imo State, welcome His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to the Eastern Heartland on a working visit to commission some of our completed people-oriented projects, Mr President, despite your busy schedules, we are thrilled to have you visit Imo State on this august occasion, and it is our pleasure that you will appreciate the hospitality and sociability of our people while you are here.” the state governor said in his speech.
